We have managed to find many small family firms still hand making textiles in Turkey and Syria which we are delighted to show here. Each piece is handloomed, hand made or hand embroidered, or all three! The hand of the maker is still present in textiles such as these which add to their beauty and charm. Our Syrian suppliers, despite the troubles the country faces, are still using the looms their ancestors have worked on for the last 150 years and we are still able to order from them.
Our cushions are from a variety of sources, most using traditionally woven and loomed silk, cotton or velvet textiles particularly from Uzbekistan. Our rug cushions are made from salvaged antique rug fragments or fine knotted wool tribal bags.
